Ezz Steel has selected Danieli Automation to supply a new extended Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for its Ezz Flat Steel plant in Ain Sokhna, Egypt, as part of the company’s digital transformation strategy.
The web-based Q3-Manufacturing platform will integrate production management, operational coordination, quality control and advanced analytics across the plant’s production flow.
The system will cover two meltshops, a Quality Strip Production (QSP) thin-slab caster and hot-strip mill, a billet caster, two bar and wire rod mills, and a hot skin-pass mill.
The platform will include production planning and scheduling, meltshop pacing, real-time shop-floor coordination, raw material and finished-product yard management, quality management, inline and predictive quality control, and analytics and reporting.
Danieli said the system is expected to improve production visibility and decision-making, optimize resource utilization and strengthen quality control across the integrated plant.
Ezz Steel operates four fully integrated steelmaking plants in Egypt with a combined production capacity of 7 mln tons of flat and long steel products annually.
