Pakistan’s finished steel imports fell by 32.2pct YoY in June 2025, according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The country imported 178,520 tons of finished steel during the month, its lowest level since August 2024,compared to 263,512 tons in June 2024.
On a monthly basis, imports saw an even steeper decline, dropping by 48pct from May levels.
Despite the sharp June drop, total finished steel imports for the first half of 2025 rose 33.2pct YoY, reaching 1.92 mln tons.
