GAFT launches anti-dumping probe into ductile iron pipe imports from India

Saudi Arabia’s Amiantit Co. announced that the General Authority for Foreign Trade (GAFT) has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into ductile iron pipe imports from India, according to a stock exchange filing.

The complaint was filed by Amiantit’s wholly owned subsidiary, Saudi Arabian Ductile Iron Pipes Ltd. (SADIP), in collaboration with another local producer.

The investigation covers hollow pipes and tubes made of cast iron (ductile iron), under HS Code 7303.0000.0001.

The application aims to protect the domestic ductile iron pipe industry, specifically products with diameters ranging from 100 mm to 1000 mm, in K9 and C Class to C40 technical specifications, following a sharp drop in import prices from India.

Amiantit said the price decline has eroded its market share, reduced production capacity, and negatively impacted sales performance.

While the financial implications remain uncertain, the company expects that potential anti-dumping duties will support sales recovery in its ductile iron pipe segment.

Founded in 1968, Amiantit provides integrated pipe and tank solutions for water, infrastructure, oil, and gas sectors, offering products built to global standards and advanced technologies.
