Gazi Metal has awarded Pomini Tenova a contract to supply a new work roll grinding machine for its Karasu, Sakarya facility in Turkey, aimed at expanding roll shop capacity.
The foundation-free machine is designed to enhance precision and efficiency, offering flexible installation, reduced civil works and increased throughput. The upgrade is expected to support higher production capacity at the plant.
Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for early 2027, with commissioning to follow shortly thereafter.
Gazi Metal is also evaluating Pomini Tenova’s PDSA (Pomini Digital Surface Analysis) technology, which uses artificial intelligence to detect surface defects and improve quality control processes, Tenova said.
Gazi Metal is a Turkish flat steel producer headquartered in Gebze, with a cold rolling facility in Karasu, Sakarya. The company has annual capacities of 500,000 tons for pickling, 350,000 tons for cold rolling, and 400,000 tons for tempering.
