The Egyptian government has awarded the construction of the light-rail transit (LRT) third phase to an Egyptian-Chinese consortium for USD 550 mln, according to local media reports.
The consortium includes China’s Avic International, Egypt’s Arab Contractors, and Orascom Construction PLC. This phase of the LRT project spans 20.4 kilometers and includes four stations, connecting Cairo to Egypt’s new administrative capital.
