Chinese seamless pipe manufacturer Hengyang Valin Steel Pipe has selected Danieli’s Fine Quality Mill (FQM) technology for its new hot-rolling production line, designed to produce 800,000 tons per year of extra-large diameter seamless tubes. The facility will be installed in Hengyang, Hunan province.
With this investment, Hengyang Valin will manufacture seamless pipes with diameters ranging from 323.8 to 610 mm and wall thicknesses between 7.2 and 65 mm, catering to the energy and infrastructure sectors in both domestic and international markets.
The high-tech equipment from Danieli will include a cone-type piercing mill and an FQM-based retained mandrel mill, integrated with newly developed extracting and sizing mills. These mills will feature a 3-roll design with a single drive, fixed and adjustable stands, and an alternate bilateral changeover system, offering enhanced technological and operational efficiency.
Scheduled for commissioning in summer 2026, the new production line will be controlled by Danieli Automation’s advanced process control systems.
