Hoa Phat Group produced 2.8 mln tons of crude steel in Q3 2025, up 14pct from Q2 and 35pct YoY. Sales of HRC, long steel, and billet reached 2.5 mln tons, down 4pct from Q2 but up 21pct YoY.
Construction steel and wire rod sales totaled 1 mln tons, down 17pct QoQ due to seasonal slowdown during Lunar July and disruptions from storms and flooding, said Dinh Quang Hieu, Head of Sales at Hoa Phat Hung Yen Steel.
HRC sales rose 8pct QoQ to 1.2 mln tons, a 71pct YoY increase. In September alone, HRC sales hit 477,000 tons, up 11pct from August. Downstream products also grew modestly, with galvanized steel sheets at 120,000 tons and steel pipes at 225,000 tons.
In the first nine months of 2025, Hoa Phat produced 7.9 mln tons of crude steel (+23pct YoY) and sold 7.4 mln tons of finished steel (+22pct YoY). Construction and high-quality steel sales reached 3.5 mln tons, cementing its 37pct share of Vietnam’s construction steel market.
For HRC, Hoa Phat supplied 3.43 mln tons in 9M 2025 (+51pct YoY), accounting for over 56pct of Vietnam’s HRC production and sales, according to VSA.
Other products recorded mixed results: galvanized steel fell 7pct YoY to 320,000 tons, while steel pipes rose 25pct to 627,000 tons. Pre-stressed steel and drawn wire sales also grew 25pct to 116,000 tons, with exports making up 42pct.
Hoa Phat completed the commissioning of Blast Furnaces No. 1 and No. 2 at Dung Quat 2 Integrated Complex in September, with output expected to climb further, especially in HRC.
As Southeast Asia’s largest steel producer and one of the Top 30 global steelmakers, Hoa Phat aims to raise its annual capacity to 16 mln tons by 2026, including 9 mln tons of HRC and wire rod to meet domestic and export demand.
