Turkey exported 1.1 mln tons of HRC during the first five months of 2026, down more than 15pct year-on-year, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Italy remained the largest export destination, importing 266,200 tons during the period, followed by Spain with 130,200 tons and Greece with 67,600 tons.
In May 2026, Turkey exported 277,300 tons of HRC, down 5.7pct compared with the same month last year. However, exports rebounded nearly 27pct from April, reflecting improved month-on-month shipments.
