Turkey exported approximately 1.3 mln tons of HRC between January and May 2025, a 52pct increase YoY, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Italy emerged as the leading importer, purchasing 352,500 tons of Turkish HRC during the period. Spain was the second-largest buyer with 245,500 tons, followed by Portugal with 113,000 tons.
In May alone, HRC exports rose to around 293,900 tons, up 46pct from the same month last year and 1.8pct higher compared to April 2025.
