Turkey’s HRC imports declined by nearly 52pct YoY in May 2024 and by 24pct month-on-month to approximately 283,000 tons, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the first five months of 2024, Turkey’s HRC imports totaled about 1.76 mln tons, a decrease of 10.6pct YoY.
China was the main import source, accounting for about 896,000 tons. Other major HRC suppliers during this period included Egypt and Russia, supplying about 288,000 tons and 186,000 tons, respectively.
