Turkey’s HRC imports reached approximately 3.6 mln tons in 2024, down 12.5pct from the previous year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
China remained Turkey’s top HRC supplier, delivering about 1.68 mln tons, an increase of 9pct YoY. Egypt followed with 614,300 tons, while Russia supplied 580,900 tons.
Other key suppliers included South Korea (276,000 tons), France (121,500 tons), Taiwan (118,600 tons), and Japan (87,000 tons).
In December 2024, Turkey imported around 306,000 tons of HRC, a sharp 64pct increase YoY but a 16.5pct decline from the previous month.
