Turkey’s HRC imports declined 12.8pct YoY to 1.98 mln tons during the first seven months of 2026, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Russia remained Turkey’s largest HRC supplier during January-July, with shipments reaching 474,700 tons, followed by China with 425,700 tons and Malaysia with 343,000 tons.
The decline in January-July was partly attributed to a sharp drop in July HRC imports, particularly from China, where shipments decreased by more than 50pct YoY.
In July 2026, Turkey imported around 246,900 tons of HRC, down 40pct YoY and nearly 18pct from June.
