Turkey’s HRC imports plunged in January 2026, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The country imported 127,200 tons of HRC during the month, down 70pct YoY and about half compared with the previous month.
Russia was the largest HRC supplier to Turkey in January, shipping around 58,800 tons, followed by Malaysia with 24,800 tons and South Korea with 17,900 tons.
China, which was Turkey’s top HRC supplier last year, shipped only 5,000 tons in January 2026.
In 2025, China supplied 1.36 mln tons of HRC to Turkey, followed by Russia with 919,000 tons, Egypt with 439,000 tons, and South Korea with 372,500 tons.
