Turkey imported approximately 5.75 mln tons of iron ore in the first seven months of 2025, marking a 14pct decline compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Brazil remained Turkey’s top supplier, shipping around 3.8 mln tons. Uzbekistan followed with 593,500 tons and Sweden supplied 331,000 tons.
In July 2025, Turkey’s iron ore imports decreased by 26pct YoY to 936,400 tons. The iron ore imports also decreased by 15pct as compared to previous month.
