As a member of ResponsibleSteel, JSP commits to initiating the certification process for at least one of their steelmaking sites in accordance with the ResponsibleSteel International Standard within one year of joining.
With a substantial presence in various sectors such as mining, power generation, and infrastructure, JSP stands as one of India’s largest steel producers, boasting a turnover exceeding USD 7.6 bln. By leveraging technologies like coal to liquid and coal gasification, JSP has positioned itself as an industry trailblazer, driving innovation in the steel sector.
ResponsibleSteel is a not-for-profit global initiative that operates as a multi-stakeholder standard and certification program. It serves to promote the responsible sourcing and production of steel, covering a wide range of sustainability issues including emissions, pollution, responsible sourcing, human rights, labor standards, and more.
