    JSW Steel reports 17pct rise in crude steel output in Q2 FY26

    JSW Steel’s consolidated crude steel production rose 17pct YoY to 7.9 mln tons in Q2 FY26, according to a stock exchange filing. Indian operations contributed 7.66 mln tons, up 16pct, with capacity utilization at 92pct.

    JSW Steel USA-Ohio also reported higher output of 24,000 tons, compared with 14,000 tons a year earlier.

    For H1 FY26, consolidated production increased 16pct YoY.

    The company also announced that JSW Vijayanagar Metallics Ltd. (JVML), its wholly owned subsidiary, commissioned a second converter on August 30, 2025, bringing its total Indian crude steel capacity to 34.2 mln tons per year. The integrated 5 mln tons per annum JVML facility ramped up successfully and operated at 88pct capacity utilization in September 2025.

    JSW Steel’s consolidated crude steel capacity stands at 35.7 mln tons per annum, including 1.5 mln tons in the U.S., with plans to expand to 43.4 mln tons within three years.
