Turkish steel producer Kardemir has reduced prices for billet and rebar in its latest domestic sales round.
The company offered S235JR-grade billet at USD 525 per ton EXW, down USD 5 per ton from the previous sales round, while B420-grade billet was priced at USD 530 per ton EXW, reflecting a USD 10 per ton decrease.
For rebar, Kardemir set prices for 12-32 mm material at TRY 26,875 (USD 583) per ton EXW, compared with TRY 26,960 (USD 590) per ton in the previous round.
Market sources said the producer concluded sales for both billet and rebar shortly after opening bookings, with moderate volumes sold in the domestic market.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir has an annual production capacity of around 3.5 mln tons, producing billets, blooms, rebar, wire rod and profiles from its facilities in Karabuk.
