Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has raised its billet prices by USD 30 per ton in its latest sales round, marking its first reported billet sales round since August 25.
The producer has set prices for 150 mm S235JR-grade billet at USD 565 per ton EXW and B420-grade material at USD 575 per ton EXW, up from USD 535 and USD 545 per ton, respectively, in the previous round. Firm scrap costs have supported higher billet prices in the Turkish market.
Market sources said Kardemir closed the latest sales round shortly after opening it, suggesting strong buying interest. However, the volume booked has not been confirmed.
Kardemir has previously announced plans to increase its billet sales allocation to 347,000 tons in the fourth quarter of 2026, compared with 280,000 tons in the third quarter.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir has an annual production capacity of around 3.5 mln tons. Its Karabuk facilities produce billets, blooms, rebar, wire rod and profiles.
