Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has increased domestic rebar prices in its latest sales round.
The producer is offering 12-32 mm rebar at TRY 27,295 (USD 578) per ton EXW, excluding VAT, up from TRY 26,500 (USD 566) per ton EXW in the previous sales round earlier this month, when the exchange rate stood at TRY 46.8 per USD.
Market insiders said Kardemir closed the sales round shortly after opening it after booking a sizeable volume of orders.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is one of Turkey’s leading integrated steel producers with an annual crude steel capacity of approximately 3.5 mln tons. The company manufactures billets, blooms, rebar, wire rod and structural steel products at its Karabuk plant.
