Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has launched a new rebar sales round with updated prices.
The company set its rebar price at TRY 22,455 per ton (USD 547), down from TRY 22,625 per ton (USD 556) in the previous round on August 6, based on an exchange rate of TRY 40.6 to the USD.
Market sources said Kardemir quickly closed sales after securing significant order volumes in the domestic market.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company produces blooms, billets, rebars, profiles along with other steel products. The company’s production facilities are located in Karabuk.
