Turkish steel producer Kardemir has announced updated prices for wire rod and rebar in its latest price list.
The company increased wire rod prices by USD 10 per ton compared to the second week of July. It is now offering 5.5 mm SAE 1006 grade wire rod at USD 590 per ton EXW, while 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grades are priced at USD 580 per ton EXW.
Kardemir also opened a new rebar sales round, raising prices in local currency to TRY 22,250 per ton (USD 550), up from TRY 21,460 (USD 536) in its July 9 round. Due to exchange rate fluctuations, the price in USD terms reflects an increase of USD 14 per ton.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company produces blooms, billets, rebars, profiles along with other steel products. The company’s production facilities are located in Karabuk.
