Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has lowered its rebar and wire rod prices in response to weak domestic steel demand.
The company now offers 12-32 mm rebar at TRY 19,875 (USD 548) per ton EXW, down from TRY 20,415 (USD 567) per ton EXW set in the first week of February, when the exchange rate was 35.9 TRY per USD.
For wire rod, the price for 5.5 mm SAE 1006 grade has dropped to USD 585 per ton EXW, while 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade is now USD 575 per ton EXW. Both prices have declined by USD 5 per ton from previous levels.
