Klockner & Co agrees to sell Becker Group

Klockner & Co has signed an agreement to sell Becker Group, a European supplier of steel, stainless steel and aluminum, to a consortium comprising Accura Investment Partners and Becker Consult + Beteiligungs-GmbH (BCB).

Klockner announced plans to divest Becker Group in January 2026 following a review of strategic options. The sale is part of its strategy to focus on profitable growth in higher value-added products and services.

Following the transaction, Becker Group will continue under its existing management team led by CEO Torsten Gieseke. The new owners plan to develop the company’s market position and pursue profitable growth in Europe, focusing on sales, procurement and business process optimization, inventory management and liquidity improvement.

No immediate workforce reductions or site closures are planned at closing. However, Accura and BCB intend to review the strategic positioning and performance of individual business units as the restructuring plan progresses.

Accura is an independent investment company focused on traditional industries in the European mid-market, while BCB is an industrial consultancy and investment firm led by Ulrich Becker, a former member of Klockner & Co’s management board.

The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close before the end of 2026. The parties have not disclosed the purchase price.

One of the world’s largest producer-independent steel and metal processors, Klockner operates around 120 warehouse and processing sites, mainly in North America and the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), serving over 60,000 customers.
