Knauf Interfer has acquired a majority stake in the H. D. Lenzen Group, based in Hagen, boosting its steel division by expanding into strip finishing.
The acquisition was completed via a share deal by Knauf Interfer Cold Rolling GmbH in Iserlohn, which simultaneously took a majority stake in Galvano Gesellschaft Bruckmann mbH & Co. KG, a steel strip finishing specialist based in Halver.
Both companies will be integrated into Knauf Interfer’s steel business unit, now reorganized into steel service and functional metals divisions. The steel service division will continue to include steel service centres, a blanking facility, and the Benelux sales office. Meanwhile, Knauf Interfer Cold Rolling and the newly acquired firms will consolidate under the functional metals division.
Founded in 1985, H. D. Lenzen operates two high-performance sites in Hagen and is a leading supplier of electrolytically galvanized precision steel strip. Knauf Interfer Cold Rolling produces a wide range of cold-rolled steel grades, along with electrolytic tin-plating and galvanizing at its Iserlohn plant.
