Kobe Steel will set up Kobelco Machinery Solution Arabia (KMSA) in Jubail Industrial City to strengthen its support for Saudi Arabia’s fast-growing petrochemical and energy industries. The new hub will provide after-sales service, on-site maintenance, and technical support, bringing the company closer to its key customers.
Saudi Arabia already accounts for 60-70pct of Kobe Steel’s Middle East sales, and Vision 2030’s push for greater local content has led companies to favor domestic service providers. KMSA is designed to meet this demand and drive long-term growth.
Kobe Steel has long supplied compressors and plastic processing systems to petrochemical and LNG plants across the Kingdom. These custom-built machines are critical to operations, requiring reliable servicing and quick troubleshooting.
Until now, support was mainly provided through Kobelco Machinery Middle East (KMME) in the UAE, established in 2012. The Jubail hub will complement KMME by offering localized services such as spare parts, repairs, and the deployment of technical experts.
The facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.
