Lamprell has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dong Fang Offshore (DFO) to collaborate on a newbuild NG-9000X wind turbine installation and maintenance vessel. The vessel will support offshore wind operations across the Asia Pacific region and will be designed to handle the latest generation of turbines.
The MoU outlines joint efforts between Lamprell, DFO, and potential regional clients, including a combined engineering and procurement approach to deliver a cost-effective and reliable vessel solution.
The NG-9000X vessel will comply with Taiwanese shipping regulations and feature a heavy-lift crane, DP-2 dynamic positioning, spud can leg for harsh environments, and accommodations. It will be capable of transporting and installing two 15 MW-class turbines simultaneously.
