Tanzania-based Lodhia Industries has signed a contract with Danieli Centro Combustion India for the supply of a 50 tph pusher-type reheating furnace for its new bar and wire rod rolling mill complex.
The project forms part of a broader investment aimed at expanding steel production capacity in East Africa. The furnace will incorporate modern combustion technology, including new-generation burners, to improve thermal efficiency while reducing scale formation and emissions.
Commissioning of the reheating furnace is scheduled for the first half of 2027, in line with the startup of the rolling mill.
The furnace will serve the long products mill previously ordered from Danieli, completing the technological package for the complex. The rolling mill will have an annual capacity of 300,000 tons, producing rebar in sizes 8-32 mm and smooth wire rod in 5.5-8 mm diameters for domestic and regional markets.
Lodhia Industries produces a range of steel and construction-related products, including rebar, pipes and roofing materials.
