Major OCTG manufacturers ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Al-Jubail (AMTPJ), Jubail Energy Services Company (JESCO) and Tenaris have signed customer agreements with ASMO, the Aramco-DHL joint venture, for pipe transportation and control tower operations.
The agreements cover six routes connecting manufacturing and processing facilities in Jubail and Dammam with the Aramco-owned Central Pipe Yard (CPY) near Abqaiq. Operations have already commenced.
The agreements make AMTPJ, JESCO and Tenaris ASMO’s first direct customers beyond its anchor customer, Aramco. Together, the three OCTG manufacturers account for approximately 78 pct of CPY’s inbound OCTG pipe volume.
ASMO took over management of CPY operations in late 2025. The facility covers more than 5 mln square meters and is one of the world’s largest logistics hubs for OCTG and line pipe materials, supporting Aramco’s drilling, production and capital projects.
The transportation network handles around 100 trips per day, supported by an average of 75 vehicles. ASMO’s centralized control tower coordinates vehicle requirements, transportation capacity and journey tracking, providing near-real-time visibility from dispatch to delivery.
ASMO also applies OCTG-specific safety standards across carriers, vehicles, drivers and routes. Its role now extends beyond CPY management to direct coordination of transportation for manufacturers supplying the yard, with plans to expand into rig preparation and final delivery.
