Japan-based Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc. has established a steel pipe and tubular products distribution company in Georgetown, Guyana, expanding its presence in the growing energy market in South America.
The new entity will focus on the supply and distribution of OCTG and line pipe products, targeting demand from the oil and gas sector, particularly offshore developments in Guyana.
The move is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its global tubular business and enhance its supply chain capabilities in key resource-rich regions. The company aims to provide stable and timely supply of steel pipes and related services to support ongoing and future energy projects, Marubeni-Itochu Steel said.
