Marubeni Itochu to supply steel for Subsea Micropiles’ offshore wind projects

Subsea Micropiles has entered into a global supply agreement with Marubeni Itochu Steel for the provision of steel used in offshore wind projects and other applications.

Based in Banchory, Scotland, Subsea Micropiles specialises in innovative micropiling technology that enables large-scale construction projects to be completed more reliably and cost-effectively. By using smaller vessels and remote seabed drilling systems, the company’s approach also reduces environmental impact and increases opportunities for local supply chain participation.

Their anchoring solution can be adapted to support both fixed and floating structures under high load conditions across a wide range of soil types.

“This global agreement will support the commercialization of Subsea Micropiles by ensuring a stable and competitively priced supply of high-quality steel materials for their anchoring systems,” said Eiichi Fuji, managing director at Marubeni Itochu Steel Europe.
