India has imposed an anti-dumping duty on imports of hot-rolled flat products of alloy and non-alloy steel from Vietnam, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance.
The duty has been set at USD 121.55 per ton, applying to shipments coming directly from Vietnam or routed through third countries, and will remain in force for five years. Vietnam’s Hoa Phat Group is exempt, as it did not hold a valid BIS certification during the investigation period.
The decision follows the DGTR’s final recommendation in August, which proposed the same duty level after completing its investigation.
The probe covered hot-rolled flat products up to 25 mm thick and 2,100 mm wide, under tariff headings 7208, 7211, 7225, and 7226, with an investigation period from Jan 1, 2023, to Mar 31, 2024, and an injury review from Apr 1, 2020, to Mar 31, 2024.
