Indian state-owned iron ore miner NMDC reported a nearly 10pct YoY decline in production, reaching 3.07 mln tons in August compared to 3.41 mln tons in August of the previous year, according to a BSE filing. Sales also fell by 11.3pct YoY to 3.14 mln tons in August.
For the April-August period, NMDC’s cumulative iron ore output decreased to 14.43 mln tons from 16.56 mln tons in the same period last fiscal year. Sales during this period also declined by 6.66pct YoY to 16.27 mln tons.
