Indian state-owned iron ore miner NMDC reported an 11pct YoY decline in production, totaling 2.17 mln tons in July. In the same month last year, the company produced 2.44 mln tons, according to a BSE filing.
However, NMDC’s sales increased to 3.06 mln tons in July from 2.91 mln tons a year earlier. For the April-July period, cumulative iron ore output fell to 11.36 mln tons from 13.15 mln tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year. Sales during this period edged up slightly to 13.15 mln tons compared to 13.13 mln tons a year ago.
