Turkey imported 1.49 mln tons of pig iron between January and August 2025, marking a 65pct YoY increase, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Russia remained the leading supplier with 1.1 mln tons, followed by Kazakhstan (131,600 tons) and Germany (56,000 tons).
In August 2025, Turkey’s pig iron imports jumped 157pct YoY to 84,800 tons, though they fell 68pct from the previous month.
