Posco International, the trading arm of the Posco Group, has finalized its strategic partnership with the Alaska LNG project in the United States, agreeing to supply steel for the project’s pipeline infrastructure and import 1 mln tons of LNG annually. The agreements were signed in Washington by Posco International CEO Lee Kye-in and Glenfarne CEO Brendan Duval.
Glenfarne is the lead developer of the USD 44 bln Alaska LNG project, which includes construction of a 1,299-kilometer pipeline for natural gas exports.
Under the partnership, Posco will supply a significant portion of the steel required for the project’s 42-inch pressurized pipeline.
