QatarEnergy has signed an agreement with Samsung C&T’s Engineering & Construction Group to build a large-scale solar power plant in Dukhan, about 80 km west of Doha.
Developed in two phases, the project will add 2,000 MW of capacity by mid-2029, doubling Qatar’s solar power output and advancing its renewable energy targets.
The first phase is set to deliver 1,000 MW to the KAHRAMAA grid by late 2028. The plant will feature solar tracker systems and high-temperature-resistant inverters to boost efficiency and reliability.
