Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded an AED 633 mln (USD 172 mln) contract for the Al Mustaqbal Street Development project, covering the stretch from Za’abeel Palace Street to Financial Centre Street.
The project includes 1,700 metres of bridges and tunnels, with Al Mustaqbal Street to be widened from three to four lanes in each direction over a 3.5-kilometre section.
Key works feature three tunnels totaling 1,200 metres at the Al Mustaqbal-Trade Centre Street intersection: a three-lane tunnel toward Deira, a two-lane left-turn tunnel to Trade Centre Street, and a single-lane tunnel serving the One Central development. A 450-metre, two-lane bridge will also be built to carry traffic from Dubai World Trade Centre toward Za’abeel Palace Street.
Additional upgrades include free-flow ramps at intersections with Exhibition and Trade Centre streets, a pedestrian bridge over Al Sukook Street, and improvements to existing intersections along the corridor.
