Saarstahl Ascoval signs long-term steel supply deal with Mannesmann Precision Tubes

France-based Saarstahl Ascoval, part of the Saarstahl Group, has entered into a long-term partnership with Mannesmann Precision Tubes to supply semi-finished steel for tube applications in the automotive and industrial sectors.

The agreement includes cooperation across the supply chain and the development of logistics solutions to ensure efficient delivery to end users.

Saarstahl said the contract supports its strategy to expand the use of low-carbon steel across multiple sectors, based on its electric arc furnace (EAF) production route using scrap.

Saarstahl Ascoval produces low-carbon semi-finished steel via EAF with annual capacity of around 730,000 tons, specializing in billets and blooms, while Mannesmann Precision Tubes, part of the Salzgitter Group, manufactures seamless and welded precision tubes for global markets.
