Safeen Drydocks expands Abu Dhabi ship repair capacity with new floating dock

Safeen Drydocks, the shipbuilding and repair subsidiary of Noatum Maritime, has added a 230-metre floating dock at Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi, expanding its drydocking and ship repair capacity.

The new dock is the largest in the UAE, with a lifting capacity of 21,000 tons and 1,000 metres of adjacent quayside. It can accommodate ocean-going commercial vessels and rig repair projects, broadening the company’s maintenance and refurbishment capabilities.

The expanded infrastructure will also support maintenance of Noatum Maritime’s deep-sea fleet, helping improve operational efficiency and reduce vessel downtime.

The new facility complements Noatum Maritime’s recently acquired Balenciaga Shipyard in Spain, which includes drydocks, a 105-metre slipway and a 22,385 sq m factory. Safeen Drydocks is a joint venture between AD Ports Group and Premier Marine Engineering Services and operates more than 170,000 sq m of shipyard facilities at Khalifa Port and Zayed Port.
