Safeen Drydocks secures USD 354 mln vessel construction contracts

UAE-based Safeen Drydocks has secured two vessel construction contracts with a combined value of AED 1.3 bln (USD 354 mln), marking the largest awards in the company’s history.

The first contract covers the design and construction of four 140-meter multipurpose vessels for AD Ports Group. The vessels will support cargo and logistics operations and will be capable of carrying containers, vehicles, trailers, heavy cargo, and up to 105 passengers.

The second contract involves the construction of 18 marine support vessels, including tugboats and pilot boats, for Nigeria’s Oilbank Logistics Services. The vessels will support port operations and offshore logistics activities in Nigeria.

Safeen Drydocks is a joint venture between AD Ports Group and Premier Marine Engineering Services and operates within Noatum Maritime’s portfolio.

The projects will be executed through Safeen Drydocks’ facilities in the UAE and Spain, including its shipyard at Khalifa Port and the recently acquired Balenciaga Shipyard.
