Fujian Kebao Metal Products Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Fujian Sanbao Group, has awarded SMS contracts for two tinplate continuous annealing lines (TIN CALs). This move supports Sanbao Group’s expansion into the high-end, food-grade tinplate market to meet rising domestic and global demand.
The lines will be installed at Sanbao Industrial Park in Zhangzhou City, China, and are designed for precise, high-speed production. They will process tinplate strip with thicknesses from 0.12 to 0.55 millimeters and widths from 700 to 1,300 millimeters, operating at speeds of up to 750 meters per minute, with a total annual capacity of about 800,000 tons.
The scope includes furnace technology from Drever, an SMS company, ensuring efficient and reliable thermal processing. A double cold reduction mill (DCR) and a twin-stand skin pass mill (SPM) will be installed inline to enhance strip quality, meeting the stringent requirements of food packaging applications.
The lines are set to begin operations in mid-2026, strengthening the partnership between Sanbao Group and SMS while enabling Sanbao to deliver high-quality tinplate for the food packaging industry.
