Turkey’s scrap import prices fell to USD 337-345 per ton CFR, down from USD 345-347 per ton CFR last week, as sporadic EU-origin deals widened the price range.
Turkish steel mills kept buying activity limited due to sluggish finished steel demand, delaying restocking, while suppliers largely resisted lowering offers. Analysts expect prices could soften further as supply increases.
Finished steel demand remained weak in both domestic and export markets. Export offers held mostly steady, with rebar at USD 540-550 per ton FOB and wire rod at USD 555-565 per ton FOB, though sources noted mills are becoming more receptive to lower bids to secure orders.
