Pakistan imported 217,192 tons of steel scrap in April 2026, down by nearly 26pct compared with 292,945 tons imported in the same month last year, according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
However, the country’s steel scrap imports increased by around 4pct compared with March 2026.
During the January-April period, Pakistan’s total steel scrap imports stood at around 1.1 mln tons, declining by 10.5pct YoY.
