Pakistan’s steel scrap imports fell by 14pct YoY in June 2025, according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The country imported 188,417 tons of scrap during the month, its lowest level since April 2024, compared to 218,991 tons in June 2024.
Month-on-month, scrap imports saw a sharper decline, falling 38pct from May levels. Despite the June slowdown, total scrap imports in the first half of 2025 rose 9.2pct YoY, reaching 1.51 mln tons.
