Turkey imported 4.7 mln tons of scrap in the first quarter of 2025, down 11.7pct YoY, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The Netherlands was the top supplier during this period, exporting 842,800 tons to Turkey. The United States followed with 776,300 tons, while the United Kingdom and Belgium contributed approximately 457,600 tons and 410,400 tons, respectively.
In March 2025, Turkey’s scrap imports reached 1.66 mln tons, down 9.4pct compared to the same month last year, but up 7pct from February.
