Turkey imported around 10.9 mln tons of scrap in January-August 2025, marking a 9pct YoY decline, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The United States remained Turkey’s largest supplier with 2.3 mln tons, followed by the Netherlands with 1.9 mln tons and the United Kingdom with 1.4 mln tons.
In August 2025, scrap imports fell sharply by 30pct YoY to 1.4 mln tons, also down more than 5pct from July.
