Turkey imported 11.3 mln tons of scrap in the first seven months of 2026, up 3.7pct YoY, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The United States remained Turkey’s largest scrap supplier during January-July, with shipments totaling 2.2 mln tons, followed by the Netherlands with 1.37 mln tons and the United Kingdom with 1.27 mln tons.
In July, Turkey imported 1.66 mln tons of scrap, up nearly 13pct YoY and 4.4pct from the previous month.
