Shougang Jingtang has awarded Fives a contract to supply a new vertical annealing furnace for its continuous galvanizing line No. 9, designed for automotive steel grades with an annual capacity of 450,000 tons.
The Stein Digiflex furnace will feature Fives’ latest AdvanTek combustion system, offering energy efficiency, fuel flexibility, and low emissions. It will also include a FlashCooling rapid cooling system, designed to improve flexibility in cooling rate, temperature cycle control, and uniformity.
The furnace will provide enhanced control of furnace atmosphere management, a key factor in achieving metallurgical targets and high-quality galvanized surface finish.
Shougang Jingtang has already been operating six Stein Digiflex furnaces at its Caofeidian facility since 2005, supporting its position in the high-quality automotive steel segment.
