China’s finished steel exports declined 3pct YoY to 75.15 mln tons during the first eight months of 2026, according to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs (GACC).
Despite the cumulative decline, China exported 10.16 mln tons of finished steel in August, up 6.8pct from a year earlier.
Meanwhile, China’s iron ore imports increased 3.1pct YoY to 108.54 mln tons in August, while rising 0.4pct from the previous month. Total imports during Jan-Aug reached 845.27 mln tons, up 5.5pct YoY.
