Tata Steel launches new construction technologies in Assam

Tata Steel has introduced two major initiatives in Assam, unveiling India’s first Mobile Bore Pile Cage Machine and opening a fully automated Construction Service Centre in Guwahati. The moves are aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, and customised solutions in the North-East’s infrastructure sector.

The Mobile Bore Pile Cage Machine, developed with TJK India, enables site-based reinforcement manufacturing for large projects. It is designed to enhance precision, cut costs, and reduce labour requirements, particularly useful in regions with challenging terrain and logistics.

The new Construction Service Centre, established with channel partner SM Corporation Limited, has a production capacity of 2,000 tons per month. It will initially focus on Tata Tiscon ReadyBuild cut-and-bend rebars with coupler threading and plans to expand into welded wire mesh and other downstream reinforcement solutions, the company said.

The Guwahati centre adds to Tata Steel’s network of 31 digitally connected, fully automated reinforcement solution centres across India.

Tata Steel Group ranks among the world’s leading steel producers, with an annual crude steel capacity of 35 mln tons.
